Local newspaper BCNMés reached out to me to design an infographic poster about the Catalan pork industry and its excesses. It was originally meant to go with one of their newspaper features but later adapted to also work as an independent printed piece.
The story, to be run in their April '16 issue, was written by Mar Romero and called Porcolipsis. I decided to go with the illustrative style of traditional stationary from local butchers and meat shops, which uses a strange combination of naïve/positive yet creepy/gory depictions of pigs being slaughtered. It felt very fitting considering the contradiction of such industry: one which local people are very proud of –because it powers the nation's economy–, yet also one that pollutes the land and damages small businesses.

The whole design concept was inspired by the book Cárnicas Gráficas by the great Andreu Balius (from Typerepublic), an old mentor of mine who I greatly admire. It was published by Adicciones porquesí and you can reach out to them to get a copy while they last (do it here).
